No it isnt. Just buy a PS3 (preferrably a Slim) and if you want to play PS2 games buy a PS2 in addition. A backwards compatible PS3 is cool but if you look at the downsides of those old models (not all fat PS3s are backwards compatible, just some specific older models) it just isnt worth it. 2. Backwards compatibility is overrated & people has been crying about it since 2009 when the slim PS3 came out, nobody cared then because of how bad the FAT ps3 was everyone bought a slim and never looked back. I remember it, but now everyone wants backwards compatibility so desperately lmao.
