Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean and make sure that it goes all the way in. This should give you an accurate reading of the oil level. If it's at or below the low mark on the dipstick, add 0.5l and drive the car before checking the oil again. 2008 Mondeo 2.3l petrol estate in Panther Black.

Between intervals, never had to top up, it was up to 120k on the clock for an 06 plate and over the last year I was doing ~200 miles a week in it. Swapped it for a newer, lower mileage Focus in June, wish I kept the Mondeo.
